I had been eyeing this place for quite some time and decided it would be the perfect spot to celebrate my wife and my anniversary. I initially couldn’t secure a reservation through OpenTable, but after giving them a quick call, they were able to accommodate us—definitely worth the extra effort. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The timing of each course was impeccable, the food presentatio…

My brother and I made a reservation about 5 months ago. The wait was definitely worth it. Yes, it's pricey. If you drive to the restaurant, just know that parking is limited. My friends and were able to secure reservations and this restaurant did not disappoint. We had the most amazing culinary experience with old time charm. Waiters are in Tux's and are very service oriented. The fillet mignon was out of this world, tender and delicious. No wonder they are the oldest steak restaurant in Vegas!!
My husband has been talking about the Golden Steer for about 15 years. Due to a cancellation we were able to get a reservation last minute. The ambiance was great. The food was blah. Bread was hard. Shrimp was nothing special. My filet was lukewarm at best and his prime rib didn’t have much taste. Lobster was nothing special either. Wait staff was good.
Serving continuously at 308 W. Sahara Avenue since 1958—literally around the corner from Chapel of the Flowers, A Little White Wedding Chapel, and the Arts District—Golden Steer is where Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and Marilyn Monroe actually dined. Because 2-to-6 top reservations sell out months early, booking one of its private rooms (like The Mob Room or Western Lounge) for 10-40 wedding guests is one of the smartest ways to experience authentic 1950s Vegas history. Lock peak spring (Mar–May) and October dates 4–8 weeks ahead, especially for sunset slots.
